AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL WOMEN'S FLOORBALL TEAM COACH CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

This is a call for the position of Head Coach of the Australian Women’s Floorball Team.

The Australian Women’s team won the B Division Gold Medal in December 2009 at the World Floorball Championships. This means the team has automatically qualified for the Women’s World Floorball Championships in 2011 as one of 8 automatically qualified countries.
The appointment for the National Coach will be for an initial period of 18 months finishing after the WFC 2011 and will cover the following tournaments APAC 2011 and WFC 2011 in December 2011. The successful applicant will be able to negotiate further terms based on an agreed set of performance indicators.

The National Coach will need to reside in Australia. This should not discourage overseas applicants as the AFA can work to assist with relocation and work opportunities

The role of the coach is to build on the success in 2009 and develop an ongoing programme to build the women’s base in Australia. The role will include the following;

•    National Coach
o    Preparation of integrated coaching and training programme for the national team
o    Preparation and training, installation of playing system
o    Support to other coaches in delivering training and coaching programmes
o    Coaching of the National team at tournaments
o    Development of selection policy and process for National teams
o    Selection of National teams
o    To run and organise the training sessions
•    Assistant Coaches
o    The AFA will also in conjunction with the appointed National Coach be appointing assistant coach(s). These positions may not be limited to only being based in Australia as there are a number of Australians playing overseas, we therefore encourage any prospective Assistant Coaches (including those based overseas) to also submit an application at the same time.

The Application will need to cover the following minimum items and you may include any other information you wish to support your application.
•    Coaching experiences, positions and results in Floorball and/or other sports
•    Personal resume
•    Experience in development and delivery of coaching programmes or similar
•    Benefits you bring to the position
•    References both professional and personnel
•    Basic outline of the proposed game plan you would be using including defensive and offensive tactics. This only needs to be in dot point format and no more than 1 page.
•    Any other information you wish to provide in support of your application
